Error creating proxy certificate: No route to host

Hello all,

I’m encountering an issue when trying to create a proxy on SWAN terminal. The VOMS server is contacted successfully, but the proxy creation fails with a “No route to host” error.

Here’s the command and output:

[vsedighz@jupyter-vsedighz TWGAMMA]$ voms-proxy-init -voms cms -rfc --valid 168:00
Enter GRID pass phrase for this identity:
Contacting voms-cms-auth.cern.ch:443 [/DC=ch/DC=cern/OU=computers/CN=cms-auth.cern.ch] “cms”…
Remote VOMS server contacted successfully.

Error creating proxy certificate: No route to host

Cheers,
Vahid

Dear Vahid,

Please open a support ticket in SNOW (Service Element - CERN Service Portal: easy access to services at CERN) detailing the issue, so that we can follow up from there.

Moreover, if you can, please try to run the same thing on lxplus to see if it works, and then on SWAN again, this time with the " -debug" flag, for the output to be verbose.

Best,
Pedro

Dear Pedro,

Thank you for your prompt response.
The voms-proxy-init command is working fine on lxplus without any issues.
In any case, the problem resolved itself after some time. If it happens again, I’ll share the debugging details with you.

Best regards,
Vahid
